This 1934 Ford was originally purchased by Joe & Charlie Culp (The Culp Brothers). They owned and operated the Rathdrum Tribune from 1903-1963. In the 1980’s the original engine quit running…the Culp family sold it to Don and Bob Shafer (The Shafer Brothers) a couple local Hot Rodders. The car was in such good shape and well preserved… they did not feel right about turning it into a Hot Rod…. So they sold it to Vern Servertson. Vern installed a 1936 Flathead V8 in the Car, and we still have the original 1934 Block, and Heads. We bought it from Vern in 2011. The car has always been in the Rathdrum/Coeur d’Alene, Idaho area it’s whole life. We still have people telling that they can remember the Culp Brother driving the car around town on special occasions.
In the glove box is a post marked 1940’s Rathdrum Tribune envelope.
